My challenge really challenged me. I looked around my house, and I only found that my bags have been given away! Back to the drawing board. I didn’t do too bad on the plastics this weekend, most of the time I refused them, or condensed my items into one or two bags. I did buy a bag at JoAnn’s for 1.00. Huge bag and it has Velcro at the top to keep it closed. It became my go to the car and dump little things in bag. I think I need to look up tutorials for bags this week for the big Black Friday shopping trip. I have three bags now and need to have at least 8-10 for groceries I’d think. I have lots of fabric that can be used so maybe I’ll start sewing this week.

Grab a bag and add it to your count. What is your favorite bag?

Do you have a tutorial you would like to share, or patterns to be reviewed? Leave a comment or email me at polkaspotfarm at gmail dot com

I live in a rural town, so my shopping trips are nearly always planned out first. Next week the kids are off for Thanksgiving and we want to make cookies. Walmart has some cool letter cookie cutters so my fiance and I have planned to go to town. I’m gathering anything I can use for a shopping bag throughout today and stuffing them in my Star Wars bag. I wonder how many bags are lying around my house that can be reused. Also I want to take some of the plastic ones I have back to Walmart for recycling. We don’t have recycling pickup here, but this is a start for some plastic recycling. We do save tin cans and drink cans for the kids to sell for their racing fund.

Challenge for today: How many reusable bags do you have? Find all the bags you are not using and put them in your car for the next shopping trip out. Let me know you’re results.

This is my quest to see how many posts I can write about the glorious reusable bag, and to see if I can convert not only my families habits but the habits of my community and maybe even yours.  Sure we’ve all seen the counters of the plastic shopping bags being consumed, but what have we done about it? Well from looking around my little corner of the farm, nothing. NOTHING? Yes nothing, not until my cashier at Walmart this week double and triple bagged my entire purchase while we were chatting about the bags they sell there. I made talked to friends and family and made a commitment to change my nasty habit. Join me on my quest to use the bag that will save the world!
